    A Boom gate acts as a barrier for access of vehicles to a controlled area. Once access is granted to the vehicle the boom gate will open and the vehicle will pass through. The boom is a long pole that pivots from a horizontal position to a vertical position once open and closes once the vehicle passes its Infrared beam or the coil.
